Course Outline

The level 3 program covers many aspects, giving you the widest progression pathway in technology and digital industries. This course with enable learners to focus on Cyber Security, Games Development, Internet Connected Devices, Technology Systems, Web Development, Programming, Using social media in Business, Creating Systems. Mobile App Development and Digital Animation/Graphics.

Entry Requirements

Completion of Y1 National FD in Digital and Cyber Technologies with entry requirement grades.

What will I learn?

Cyber Security and Incident Management – You will examine the many different types of cyber security attacks, the vulnerabilities that exist in networked systems and the techniques that can be used to defend an organisation’s networked systems. You will also examine evidence from cyber security incidents. Digital Animation and Effects - You will design and develop a digital animation and effects product for an audience and purpose using industry software. Data modelling - You will develop the skills and techniques necessary to create complex spreadsheets in order to produce accurate information that informs decision making. Project Management - You will deliver a project using at least one project management methodology and use planning, execution, and monitoring and control stages of the project Technology Service Delivery - You will explore a range of organisations and investigate their technology service needs, examining the computer systems that have been set up, used and integrated to deliver technology services to users and customers. The Internet of Things - you will investigate the applications of different IoT systems and services. You will also design a prototype IoT system or device and develop it using off-the-shelf hardware and suitable programming languages, techniques and constructs. Computer Games Development - You will investigate the technologies used in the computer gaming industry and you will design, create and review a computer game.

Coursework and formal assessment required

Career Progression

Successfully completing this course will provide you progression into employment, the HND Cyber Security at the college or another Higher Education institution
