One Year full time course for learners who wish to prepare for the Access to Higher Education or any other Level 3 course within the college. The course will also allow you to work within the health and social care sector. The course is structured to meet individual needs and there is a strong emphasis on the core skills including literacy and numeracy.
No formal qualifications are required. All prospective students are interviewed and assessed prior to being offered a place
Learners are introduced to a range of academic subject areas related to the health care programmes; these include biology, and sociology. Within the course you will also study the health and social care core (adults) qualification, which is an essential requirement to work within the health and social care sector. The course will build upon your personal experiences and the learners are encouraged to participate and gain voluntary experience.
Written assignments, exams, presentations, practical activities
Successful completion of the course will enable you to go on to a variety of courses including the access to higher education, health and social care and childcare. Because you will be returning to learn at college you must be prepared to allocate time for private study throughout the course, on top of your time in college
