Welsh Language Standards

The College Merthyr Tydfil actively encourages all staff to use the Welsh language in order to provide learners, staff and visitors with a Welsh language service across all aspects of college provision and services.


The college is committed towards the development of the Welsh language and the delivery of the statutory Welsh Language Standards established by the Welsh Government under the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011.

The College’s Welsh Language Officer and Director of Planning and Operations are responsible for monitoring and reporting on the College’s compliance with the Welsh Language Standards.

Making a Complaint 

Complaints in relation to the college's compliance with the Welsh Language Standards will be automatically referred to the college's Welsh Language Officer.

What happens after I make a complaint?

The college will log your complaint and get back to you within 5 working days to follow up your complaint.

If we need to examine or assess your complaint in more detail, we'll escalate it up to our Compliance team. They'll log it and contact you to explain the next steps.
