Enrolment FAQs

You can request that your enrolment information be emailed to you again by contacting Reception on 01685 726000 or emailing admissions@merthyr.ac.uk

If you have an enrolment appointment, it is important that you still come to that appointment, where we can discuss your options with you. We have a wide range of courses and may be able to offer you a place on another course.

  • 16-18 years old students on full-time courses will normally be given their timetable on their Induction Day in the first week of September.
  • Please don’t contact the college before this week to ask for your timetable because individual timetables will not yet be finalised.
  • Adults on part-time courses will normally be emailed their timetable in the week before their first lesson.
  • Adults on part-time/ Higher Education courses will receive their timetables from their tutors during enrolment

  • 16-18 year old learners who are new to college will normally be asked to attend an enrolment appointment in the last week of August. Their first day of teaching (Induction Day) will be the 1st September 2025.
  • Adult/Part time learners will commence on the 15th September 2025. 

Don’t worry if you haven’t accepted your place, If you want to accept a place, please email admissions@merthyr.ac.uk.

You will need to bring a form of ID and a copy of your results. 

No unfortunately, you cannot enrol online. You will be invited by our admissions team to enrol in person at the college.  

Don’t worry if you don’t get the results you had hoped for, or you achieve better than you expected. Our Admissions team will be happy to give you information and advice about what you can do next. 

You can only enrol once you have received your results.  

We accept enrolments from late August to October, however, we advise you enrol as early as possible to avoid disappointment and the pressure of catching up. 

The whole process will take approximately an hour 

No, after you apply, you require an interview which will be followed by an offer. We only invited learners into enrolment if they have received an offer. 

No, you need to enrol yourself, if you can’t make the enrolment date, please let Admissions know. 

You will receive you learner ID card during induction week.  

Yes of course, we allow learners to change courses up to six weeks after enrolment, however, this is dependent on course availability.  

If you are away during your main enrolment slot, please do not worry, just email admissions@merthyr.ac.uk and we will arrange a new time for you.
