College Football Academy player selected to represent Welsh Colleges
The college is delighted to announce that our football academy player and BTEC Engineering learner Josh Jones has been selected for the Welsh Colleges u19 squad v England Schools on Wednesday 15th December. Josh, who is a past Cyfarthfa High School pupil, was selected after a National Colleges trial that took place in Newtown in November.
Commenting on his achievement, Josh said “I am delighted to be picked to represent the college and Wales in the match against England schools. Football is my passion and I would like to thank all of the staff and coaches at the college for supporting me and helping me to develop as a player over the last two years.”
Merthyr Sports Academy Football Coach David Haggett, commented “This is an excellent achievement for Josh and we are extremely proud of him. He has displayed a fantastic level of skill, teamwork and enthusiasm throughout his time playing in our academy and we wish him the very best of luck in the match.”
