The Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PcET) and Professional Certificate in Education (PCE) are both post-16 teacher training courses to prepare you for work with learners in the post-complusory education and training.
Available for both graduates and non-graduates. Maths and English Language GCSE grade C or above are desirable. DBS check required.
The second year of the programme focuses on ways in which tutors can enrich the learning experience of students through such things as blended learning and innovative teaching techniques. Four modules will be completed during the second year: • Enhancing Learning, Teaching and Assessment (20 credits) • The Role of ICT in Further Education (10 credits) • Blended Learning Applications (10 credits) • Professional Practice 2** (20 credits)
Assessment includes assignments based on lesson planning, teaching, assessment and evaluation, course design and small scale research. There are no formal examinations. Assessment of professional practice is via a series of observations and assessments and the compilation of a professional development portfolio.
Successful completion will gain a teaching qualifaction, along with a range of teaching skills and techniques.
