This qualification provides the necessary knowledge and skills for supporting teaching and learning in a supervised capacity. In schools and colleges with children and young people aged 5 and over. Regular placement/work in an education setting for the duration of the course is mandatory.
Candidates should be over 16 and have the academic skills to work independently at a Level 2
This qualification will enable learners to develop the knowledge and skills needed when supporting teaching and learning in primary, secondary or special schools. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development, supporting those with disabilities or special educational needs and communication and professional relationships.
Assessment is through assignment-based tasks and placement observations.
Successfully completing the Level 2, many students progress to the Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, which will be determined by interview. Others progress into the education workforce as this qualifaction provides you the skills and knowledge
