Alevel Government and Politics is a perfect choice for students considering a career in politics, or those who simply want to understand how the world works. Politics goes well with Economics, History , Sociology and English. Politics does not just appeal to Social Science students, however: increasingly Art and Drama students have enrolled to study Government and Politics , giving them a broader perspective on the world.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 5 A* to C grades at GCSE with a B grade in History or English.

What will I learn?

The A level Government and Politics course is designed to encourage students to develop their critical thinking skills and enhance their ability to interpret , evaluate and comment on the nature of politics . Students acquire knowledge of the structures of authority and power within the political system of the United Kingdom and are encouraged to think and debate.

Career Progression

Numerous students who have taken the Alevel in Government and Politics go on to study Politics at university. From there you might become a researcher, join local or national government or even start on the path to become a future Prime Minister!
