The course of study will allow the individual to research and study themes and issues based in psychology. Students will cover different psychological approaches and theory and through a preparation to work module they will learn how to apply these theories in practice.
You will normally have to have one of the following: 1. BTEC vocational qualification at level 3 in an appropriate area, 2. At least an A Level pass in an appropriate area, 3. An alternative level 3 qualification in an appropriate area or 4. Mature applicants must possess relevant experience/literacy skills. All applicants will undergo a formal interview.
Year 2 - Psychological disorders, Childhood and adolescence, social psychology, research methods and professional practice.
A range of assessment methods including; Essays, MCQs, Portfolios and case studies
Completion of the foundation degree can lead to entry onto the second year of a BSC Hons qualification in the University of South Wales. Some students seek employment linked to thier voluntary placements. Students are expected to undertake voluntary work throughout the duration of the course.
