The course of study will allow the individual to research and study themes and issues based in psychology. Students will cover different psychological approaches and theory and through a preparation to work module they will learn how to apply these theories in practice.
You will normally have to have one of the following: 1. BTEC vocational qualification at level 3 in an appropriate area 2. At least an A Level pass in an appropriate area 3. An alternative level 3 qualification in an appropriate area or 4. Mature applicant must possess relevant experience/literacy skills. All applicants will undergo a formal interview.
Year 1 - Theoretical approaches to psychology, research methods, psychology in everyday life, biological psychology, cognitive psychology and individual differences.
A range of assessment methods including; Essays, MCQs, Portfolios and case studies.
Completion of the foundation degree can lead to entry onto the second year of a BSC Hons qualification in the University of South Wales. Some students seek employment linked to thier voluntary placements. Students are expected to undertake voluntary work
