Made for sporting success? The Sports Coaching & Development course in conjunction with Active Merthyr ensures that all learners can access the new partnership programme called SETUP which effectively combines qualifications and employability. Students will not only be able to leave the course with A-Level equivalent qualifications, but will now gain valuable coaching qualifications in a variety of sports. They will also obtain invaluable experience from coaching in the local schools and community. As a department we have invested heavily into our learner’s personal development to ensure they have the best possible opportunity succeed. The course will see them participate in a 15-week placement in local primary schools to develop their coaching skills in year 1, before becoming mentors and community coaches in year 2. This course provides learners with an insight into the world of sport and the many opportunities it provides. Twitter @merthyrsport Instagram tcmtsport Tik Tok @tcmt_sps
