Course Outline

This course offers a chance to gain an insight into sport and the varying opportunities it provides. It will allow students to be assessed using varied methods, allowing them to showcase all of their skills and knowledge. The sports sector has been growing for many years and the rate of growth is as high as ever. Jobs exist in coaching, administration and management, health & fitness and Sports Science. Entry Requirements

Minimum of 5 GCSE’s Graded A*-C including Maths and English

What will I learn?

Year 1 Modules: Functional Anatomy, Coaching for Performance & Fitness Year 2 Modules: Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology, Specialised Fitness Training

Course Assessment

• 1 External assessment in Year 1 • 1 External assessment set by awarding body • A mixture of written and practical assessment

Career Progression

• Progression to Year 2 and full 1 A Level equivalent tariff points. • Progression to University • Apprenticeship / Traineeship in Sport
