RTITB Rough Terrain Masted Truck

Course Outline

RTITB offers two Rough Terrain truck courses: Rough Terrain Telescopic Handler (often referred to as a Rough Terrain Telehandler) and Rough Terrain Masted truck (often referred to as a Rough Terrain Forklift). In order to operate both machine types, you must complete both training courses.

What will I learn?

Truck Types. J2: Telescopic handler with lift height up to 9m. J3: Telescopic handler with lift height over 9m. J1: Masted rough terrain forklift.

Operational Techniques. Starting, stopping, and steering on rough terrain, Driving on/off ramps and inclines. Vehicle loading and unloading. Handling pallets, containers, bulk packs, and scaffold platforms.

Safety and Stability. Lift truck stability and weight assessment, Hydraulic systems and controls. Operator safety code and use on public highways. Pre-use inspections and fault reporting

Legislation and Best Practice. Health and safety regulations. Industry-specific guidance and standards.
