Course Outline

The RTITB Reach Truck Operator training course will give you the skills to operate a reach truck safely and efficiently, carry out a pre-use inspection, and recall the causes of truck and load instability.

What will I learn?

Safe Operations of Reach Trucks. How to operate reach trucks in various environments. Understanding truck controls and functions. Manoeuvring in tight aisles and high-level racking situations.

Pre-Use Inspections, Conducting daily safety checks, Identifying faults and reporting issues Ensuring the truck is safe before use. Load Handling and Stability. Understanding load weight, balance, and centre of gravity. Techniques for lifting, stacking, and de-stacking. Causes of truck and load instability and how to prevent accident

Warehouse Safety Protocols. Risk assessments and hazard awareness. Safe working practices in confined spaces. Aisle management and pedestrian safety

Technical Knowledge. Capabilities and limitations of reach trucks. Legislative requirements and workplace regulations
