The Gas Cookers (CKR1) course is an appliance-specific module under the ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme) for gas engineers. It’s designed for those who already hold core gas safety qualifications (like CCN1) and want to legally install, commission, service, and repair domestic gas cookers.

Entry Requirements

Must hold CCN1 (Core Domestic Gas Safety) or equivalent Suitable for: Category 1: Experienced gas operatives Category 2: Applicants with relevant mechanical qualifications Category 3: New entrants (may require additional training)

What will I learn?

Gas Safety Regulations Understand the legal framework, including Building Regulations and British Standards. Installation Requirements Learn correct procedures for positioning, connecting, and securing gas cookers.

Commissioning Procedures Carry out safety checks, burner pressure settings, and gas rate calculations. Servicing Techniques Routine maintenance, cleaning, and performance checks.

Fault Finding & Diagnosis Identify and resolve common issues, including unsafe situations.

Ventilation & Flueing Ensure compliance with airflow and extraction requirements.
