Course Outline

This is an ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme) assessment that tests your competence in: Installation Commissioning Servicing Repair and Breakdown Exchange and Disconnection of domestic LPG closed flue gas fires

Entry Requirements

You must hold Core Domestic LPG Safety (CCLP1 LAV) or Core Natural Gas to LPG Changeover (CoNGLP1 LAV) certification. These are foundational qualifications required to work legally with LPG appliances in the UK12. 🔹 Experience The course is designed for experienced gas engineers who wish to install, commission, service, and repair domestic LPG closed flue gas fires. If your CCLP1 or CoNGLP1 certificate has expired for more than 12 months, you may need to retake the CCN1 & Appliance Initial Course

What will I learn?

Gas Safety Legislation & Standards Understand the legal framework, including Building Regulations and British Standards. Combustion & Flue Systems Learn about combustion performance, flue gas analysis, and chimney types (open, closed, balanced, fan-assisted).

LPG Characteristics Explore LPG supply pressures, vessel and cylinder safety, sizing, and location requirements. Ventilation Requirements Ensure safe and compliant airflow for appliance operation.

Installation & Commissioning Fit and commission closed flue gas fires correctly and safely. Servicing & Maintenance Carry out routine servicing and identify faults or unsafe situations.

Repair & Breakdown Response Diagnose and fix issues, including emergency procedures and use of warning labels. Tightness Testing & Purging Apply correct procedures for pipework testing and purging across different LPG environments.
