Course Outline
From Level 1 through to Level 3, our hairdressing and beauty courses provide you with the opportunity to further develop your skills and enhance you career and employment prospects in the hair and beauty industry. All of our courses equip learners for the world of work by providing the opportunity for them to work within a realistic working environment whereby they are required to develop key employability skills.
Entry Requirements
No formal entry requirements necessary, basic literacy and numeracy skills will be assessed prior to enrolment.
What will I learn?
The Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist Techniques is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in; how to provide eyelash and brow treatments, removing hair using waxing techniques, applying make-up, manicure, pedicure and skincare. To further enhance your practical skills you will have the opportunity to choose from the following practical units; the application of tanning techniques, instruction on make-up application, removing hair using alternatives to wax such as threading or sugaring, eyelash perming, ear piercing or the creative skill of nail art.
Course Assessment
Observation of practical assessment, written assignments, case studies, end of unit tests
Career Progression
This course will enable the student to work in beauty salons, nail bars, TV and stage, retail outlets, freelance work or sales representatives. There is also a progress route to the Level 3 advanced diploma in beauty therapy.
