Course Outline

Embark on a dynamic and comprehensive journey through the construction industry with our Level 1 Construction Multiskills Full-Time Course. This one-year program, accredited by City & Guilds, is specially designed for learners who wish to explore multiple trade areas before deciding on a specific specialisation. The course includes rotations between Brickwork, Plastering, Painting & Decorating, and Carpentry & Joinery.

Entry Requirements

No formal prerequisites are required, however, numeracy and literacy skills will be assessed prior to enrolment. An interview with our construction trade tutors is part of the application process. Demonstrate a genuine interest in construction and a willingness to explore the various trade areas during the course.

What will I learn?

Throughout the year, you'll engage in rotations across the fundamental trade areas of construction: Brickwork, Plastering, Painting & Decorating, and Carpentry & Joinery. Gain practical experience in each discipline, allowing you to make informed decisions about your preferred specialisation. This course provides a broad foundation of skills essential for success in the diverse field of construction.

Course Assessment

Assessment is based on practical workshops and the development of a comprehensive portfolio. This approach ensures that your skills are not only theoretical but also immediately applicable in real-world construction scenarios.

Career Progression

Upon completion, you'll be well-equipped with a diverse skill set, laying the groundwork for entry-level positions in various construction trades. This course serves as a stepping stone for further specialisation or career advancement in the construction industry. You could progress to further learning in Brickwork, Carpentry and Joinery, Painting and Decorating or Plastering via our L2 Foundation route. Alternatively, you could progress into apprenticeship training or employment in the construction industry.
