A level Art allows you to develop an exciting and extensive range of creative and technical skills. You will also gain a strong understanding of historic and contemporary visual art practice, through supporting contextual studies. Unique to studying Art at A Level, you build up a very personal and continually evolving body of practical work, guided and supported by your tutors. Individual exploration and development of your personal skills and creative directions is a special aspect of this subject.
5 GCSE’s at grades A* to C, including English Language and a B in Art and Design. You will be asked to bring examples of your art work to your interview.
On this course you will be give the opportunity to explore new techniques, new media and materials which will allow you to experiment creatively, when exploring traditional and contemporary Art practice.

Successful applicants usually progress onto a Foundation Studies Diploma. There is also an option to apply to one of our Foundation Degrees in Photography or Art Practice, which now has a BA(Hons) top-up year. Students can also use their Art & Design A level to build up UCAS points towards applications for university courses outside of the visual arts
