RS will introduce you to some of the most important thinkers in Western History and blend the study of Ethics, Philosophy and Religion, in an intellectual journey of discovery! The subject of religious studies is a vast one and any proper study of a religion must grapple with the key ideas that have shaped that religion.

5 GCSEs at grades A* to C including English Language. A grade B or above in English Language would be highly desirable.

There is no coursework during the AS/A2 at the college, however you will develop thinking skills, writing skills, the ability to communicate in debate and evaluate your own arguments. RS offers students the ability to consider religious thought, belief and practice and the different ways in which these are expressed in the lives of individuals, communities and societies. In addition, you will be expected to study independently throughout the course. This means reading and engaging with new material on your own and developing academic resilience as you try to deal with complex topics and issues. This kind of learning is vital and it is ideal preparation for university study.

AS Course Unit 1- An Introduction to the Study of Religion (Sikhism) Unit 2- An Introduction to Religion and Ethics and the Philosophy of Religion.

Many students are offered places at university to study degree courses in religious studies and/or theology. A great many students also go on to employment in careers as diverse as the police force, armed services, social services, prison and probation work, education, and work within the NHS.
