Level 2 Hair and Beauty students from The College Merthyr Tydfil wowed judges with their amazing skills at their recent hairdressing competition. Over 65 students took place in the competition, which required them to create a hair and beauty image with co-ordinating costumes and makeup based on an ‘Around The World’ theme.
The College Merthyr Tydfil was delighted to welcome over 800 year 9, 10 and 11 pupils from Afon Taf, Bishop Hedley, Cyfarthfa and Penydre to its recent Careers Pathway Event. The event, which was held on 4th April, utilised a range of the Welsh Government ‘Have a Go’ equipment, providing an excellent opportunity for the pupils to engage in a range of vocational and skills activities whilst at the same time speaking with course tutors, universities and employers about the learning, progression and employment pathways on offer to help them achieve these skills.Read more

Three BTEC Level 3 Engineering students are working with year 11 pupils from Cyfarthfa High School to design an F1 car of the future.
Come and see our Foundation Degree Performing Arts students and some other familiar faces in Jim Cartwright's Two. A play that explores human relationships and the secrets that unite and divide us, Two focuses on the Landlord and Landlady of a local pub and the many regulars who frequent it. Both funny and touching, the play will have you laughing out loud and then holding back the tears. Tickets are limited so please contact the box office and book yours now!
