Shortlist for the 2018 NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards Announced


It has just been announced that Wales based Christine Bissex has been shortlisted for the 2018 NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards in the Entrepreneurs Champion of the Year award.


Christine Bissex beat off some tough competition in order to make the regional shortlist, with a record number of businesses and individuals entering the awards nationally across the wide range of categories.

College Merthyr Tydfil and Tydfil training Consortium join forces to provide enhanced traineeship and apprenticeship opportunities in Merthyr Tydfil

The College Merthyr Tydfil Work Based Learning provision and Tydfil Training Consortium have, today, announced  that they are joining together to provide an integrated traineeship and apprenticeship programme, offering a range of opportunities for learners from the age of 14 through to adults seeking help and support with their employability skills.

Another exceptional year of A level and vocational success at The College Merthyr Tydfil

Staff and learners at The College Merthyr Tydfil are celebrating after achieving another year of outstanding A level and vocational results.

The college has maintained its already high standards with an overall A level pass rate of 99.5%. The number of learners achieving grades A*-A has also increased by 4% showcasing the rising quality of teaching and learning at the college.  73% earned A*-C grades, a rise of 3.5% in comparison to the 2017 A*-C pass rate.

For attention of all A level and Level 3 Vocational Learners

We are looking forward to seeing you this Thursday to celebrate your A level examination results and Level 3 Vocational outcomes.

Results will be available for collection from 08:00am in the college atrium. We encourage you all to attend and celebrate with us by enjoying mocktails, tea, coffee, fruit and pastries.

Joint top college in Wales for HE student satisfaction

The College Merthyr Tydfil has been named as the top further education college in Wales for HE student satisfaction, according to the annual National Student Satisfaction Survey.

The college, which scored 87% last year, has risen to 94%, and is now joint top in Wales alongside Gower College which also scored 94%. This high score puts the college on par with the University of St Andrews which ranks 1st in the Times Higher Education National Student Survey (NSS) 2018: overall student satisfaction results.
