The college is delighted to announce that our Physics and Engineering lecturer, Martin Thomas, was one of three teachers shortlisted for University of Bath Teachers' Awards 'Nothing's Impossible Award' 2021.
The annual awards, which aim to recognise and celebrate teachers who have gone above and beyond to support their learners, are split into four distinct categories:
Martin, a dedicated lecturer who always goes above and beyond to provide his learners with the best possible teaching, support and overall learning experience, was nominated for the 'Nothing's Impossible Award' in recognition of his continual commitment and efforts to inspire all his learners to believe in themselves and aim high.
Martin was nominated by former college learner Ian Williams. Ian, who studied, Maths, Physics and Engineering at the college between 2018 and 2020, said "Mr Thomas teaches with an immense passion for his subject that instils a desire to learn in the students that he teaches. He treats his students as equals and cares deeply about their well-being… My choice of university and degree was heavily influenced through his teaching, inspiring me to achieve and apply for top universities…I am extremely thankful for his support, both academic and pastoral.”
Commenting on his nomination, Martin stated "I am delighted to have been nominated and shortlisted for such a prestigious award. I love the job that I do and am passionate about supporting and encouraging all of my learners to do the very best they can, aim high and to take all of the learning opportunities on offer for them. I am so very grateful that my support and guidance has been well received and appreciated, especially during these challenging times." ,
