£19m has been allocated to the Upskilling@Work scheme. Currently, Coleg Gwent, Coleg Y Cymoedd, Bridgend College, College Merthyr Tydfil, Cardiff and the Vale College and NPTC Group will be able to offer training to employers 100% fully subsidised until March 2022. After this it will return to a reduced cost to employer
Colleges will work closely with employers to assess their training needs and identify courses that would best meet these training objectives. The scheme aims to provide training at a time and location suitable to the employer wherever possible, be it at one of the Colleges involved or in the workplace.
Further Education Sector Responds to COVID Crisis with Fully Subsidised Training for Employers
In response to the crushing impact of COVID-19 on the economic wellbeing of Wales, The College Merthyr Tydfil has come together with WEFO (Welsh European Funding Office) to develop a package of support to help and assist businesses during this time.
With support from the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government, we can now offer local businesses accredited training and development qualifications for their staff, ranging from Levels 1 - 7 that are 100% subsidised.
We are delighted to announce that with immediate effect, and expected to run until March 2022, this training is now available for qualifying companies. These include public, private and third sector organisations of any size, with a base in Wales, who have not already received more than 200,000 Euros in de minimis state aid over the last 3 fiscal years.
The training must be an approved and accredited qualification and includes a range of competence based, work-related qualifications for all business sectors.
