Course Outline

The sports sector has been growing for many years and the rate of growth is as high as ever. Jobs exist in coaching, administration and management, fitness advice and Sports Science. Entry Requirements

Entry is by interview; students must have a reasonable sporting ability 4 GCSEs grades D-G are desirable.

What will I learn?

Modules: Fitness for Sport & Exercise, Practical Sports Performance, Training for Personal Fitness, Leading Sports Activities, Anatomy & Physiology, Lifestyle & Well-being, Running a Sports Event, Sport & Leisure Industry, Designing Exercise Programmes, Work Experience.

Course Assessment

• 2 External assessments • A mixture of written and practical assessment

Career Progression

On successful completion of the course, students are able to progress on to study the BTEC Level 3 Coaching & Development Course or an apprenticeship/traineeship in the sport industry.
