This course aims to provide an opportunity todevelop and extend the knowledge of qualified and experienced workers in the field of childcare. Candiates must be currently working in a childcare setting or prepared to undertake a voluntary placement.
BTEC National Diploma/Certificate in childhood studies/early years NNEB/CACHE diploma in childcare & education. Two A Levels in related subjects. Acceptance is also dependent on interview, references and an enhanced criminal records bureau enquiry
Enable students to develop the knowledge, expertise, skills, personal qualities and attitudes necessary when working with Children and Young People. • Provide an educational foundation for a range of careers within the children and young people’s sector, and facilitate the student’s ability to challenge current practice. • Motivate and promote the flexibility which will be the basis for future career development including leadership and management. • Prepare the student for future learning and study, including appropriate top-up and other graduate programmes.
It provides progression to an honours degree in early childhood studies or a similar degree course.
