This course is offered full time spanning two academic years. Learners can choose to complete a third year at University of South Wales, Atrium campus, in order to achieve a full honours degree. The course will provide a wide range of photographic training through challenging and stimulating assignments, along with a variety of field trips to support your studies. Digital photography, traditional silver-based photography and extensive studio and location work are key elements of the course with a strong emphasis on practice. Assignments are varied and interesting, covering disciplines such as photojournalism, documentary photography, fashion photography, commercial photography, fine art approaches and alternative photographic styles. A sound knowledge of the history of photography and awareness of contemporary developments will support and underpin your photographic practice and encourage you to think critically, about photography and its impact on our society and culture.
1. Two A-Levels at C/C or above 2. BTEC/UAL equivalent: Merit/Pass/Pass For Mature Learners - If you can show portfolio evidence of an interest in photography or other relevant skills or prior learning, you will not require formal qualifications but will be invited to attend an interview.
