As part of the larger University body, Merthyr Tydfil College has a unique learning environment to offer all of its students, and opens up the way to higher education for those who wish to continue with their studies at University level. What this means for you as a student is that, not only will you benefit from the longstanding excellence in teaching at Merthyr, but you will be able to draw on skills and resources at the University during your studies.
As Dean of the College, I am committed to driving forward this development which has already delivered significant investments in building and infrastructure improvements at the Merthyr site. Merthyr Tydfil College is at the forefront of raising standards in further education in Wales, and in partnership with the University, has a first class learning experience to offer all who study here. We look forward to welcoming you to the College.

I am once again delighted to write this brief welcome for both new and returning students. We have a wide range of new and existing courses to offer you to suit all ability levels. Whether you are a school leaver, an adult returner, or if you have been made redundant, we have something to offer you.
The College has gone from strength to strength in the last few years and a large amount of money has been spent on improving facilities for all learners; we are particularly pleased with our new Performing Arts Theatre. I do hope that you will come and join us in September 2009!
With every best wish for your studies.
