German engineering at its best
Merthyr Tydfil College’s Motor Vehicle sections annual tour of car manufacturer’s this year took place in Germany.
Students spent 2 days viewing the Manufacturing plants and Museums of the car makers Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, both of which are based near the historic city of Stuttgart. The opportunity to see the production process from the first stage (a roll of steel) through to the final gleaming car coming off the line is an experience not to be forgotten.
A further 2 days were spent sightseeing around the beautiful city of Munich, ending with a tour of the iconic BMW museum and its vast showroom. Here students were able to view the latest eco-friendly cars and the concept cars of the future.
Apart from the freezing temperatures and the continuous fall of snow, the trip was once again a huge success and an enjoyable experience for all who took part.
