Iwan Davies, a former Foundation Degree student at The College Merthyr Tydfil has successfully been accepted to study at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). Iwan began his Foundation Degree in Performing Arts at the college after gaining his A-Levels at Ysgol Rhydywaun.
During his time on the course Iwan engaged in a number of challenging rehearsal processes, exploring a range of theatre styles and practitioners spanning Realism, Physical Theatre and Musical Theatre.Read more

Double gold success for A levels at The College Merthyr Tydfil

The college Merthyr Tydfil is celebrating a double gold success in true Olympic fashion after achieving a 99% A level pass rate for the second year running and a 3% rise in the percentage of students achieving grades A* and A grades.
In addition the college’s AS pass rate has also increased to 91% - an increase of 6% on our 2015 pass rate.Read more
The College Merthyr Tydfil has been named as the top further education college in Wales for HE student satisfaction, according to the annual National Student Satisfaction Survey.
The college, which scored 83% last year, has risen to 92%, and is now joint top in Wales alongside Aberystwyth University which also scored 92%.
The survey seeks to measure student satisfaction across a range of issues including teaching, assessment and feedback, organisation and management and personal development.Read more
