College Merthyr Tydfil Business lecturer selected to attend Parliament’s “Teachers’ Institute”

Adrienne Evans a Business Studies lecturer at The College Merthyr Tydfil, has been selected to attend “Teachers’ Institute” in the Houses of Parliament.  Since it was launched in 2006, “Teachers’ Institute” has trained more than 600 teachers, from all parts of the UK, giving them skills and knowledge of Parliament to pass on to their students and fellow teachers.

Level 2 Create A Hair And Beauty Design Competition

Level 2 Hair and Beauty students from The College Merthyr Tydfil wowed judges with their amazing skills at their recent hairdressing competition. Over 65 students took place in the competition, which required them to create a hair and beauty image with co-ordinating costumes and makeup based on an ‘Around The World’ theme.

Career Pathway Event for Merthyr Tydfil learners

The College Merthyr Tydfil was delighted to welcome over 800 year 9, 10 and 11 pupils from Afon Taf, Bishop Hedley, Cyfarthfa and Penydre to its recent Careers Pathway Event. The event, which was held on 4th April, utilised a range of the Welsh Government ‘Have a Go’ equipment, providing an excellent opportunity for the pupils to engage in a range of vocational and skills activities whilst at the same time speaking with course tutors, universities and employers about the learning, progression and employment pathways on offer to help them achieve these skills.
