College Principal supports ‘Time to Change Young People’s Pledge’

On 10th October, the college held a well-being event to mark the UK’s Mental Health Awareness Day. Working with Merthyr Tydfil and the Valleys Mind and key local partners, the event provided an opportunity for staff and learners and members of the public to come along and gain advice and guidance on how to enhance their health and well-being. 

Opening the event, Head of College, Lisa Thomas also had the privilege of signing the Time To Change Young People's Pledge, showcasing the college’s commitment to supporting learners suffering with mental health issues.

It has just been announced that Wales based Christine Bissex has been shortlisted for the 2018 NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards in the Entrepreneurs Champion of the Year award.

College Merthyr Tydfil and Tydfil training Consortium join forces to provide enhanced traineeship and apprenticeship opportunities in Merthyr Tydfil

The College Merthyr Tydfil Work Based Learning provision and Tydfil Training Consortium have, today, announced  that they are joining together to provide an integrated traineeship and apprenticeship programme, offering a range of opportunities for learners from the age of 14 through to adults seeking help and support with their employability skills.

Another exceptional year of A level and vocational success at The College Merthyr Tydfil

Staff and learners at The College Merthyr Tydfil are celebrating after achieving another year of outstanding A level and vocational results.

The college has maintained its already high standards with an overall A level pass rate of 99.5%. The number of learners achieving grades A*-A has also increased by 4% showcasing the rising quality of teaching and learning at the college.  73% earned A*-C grades, a rise of 3.5% in comparison to the 2017 A*-C pass rate.
