Learning Coaches

Learning Coaches are available to all students aged between 14 and 19 years. This service is part of your entitlement under the Welsh Assembly Government’s 14-19 Pathways. Information on the Learning Coach support is available from room 5 or from the Flexible Learning Unit on the ground floor. The Learning Coaches are also available to offer support to students of all ages who have specific learning difficulties, such as Dyslexia or Dyspraxia or who have a disability. Please let Student Services know as soon as possible if you would like help with your studies. You could also speak to you course tutor or to a Learning Coach at the Flexible Learning Unit.

The support available at the college includes:
• Support for communication, numeracy and use of computers
• Accessible learning materials
• Assessment by an external specialist e.g. Educational Psychologist
• Laptops, palmtops, spellcheckers
• One to one Learning Coaching
• Interpreters/signers
• Specialist software
• Large screen computer monitors
• Large print handouts
• Adapted keyboards and joysticks
• Extra time for examinations, a reader, scribe etc
• Help to move around college
• Personal care
• Lift to all floors
• Accessible toilets
