Entry Requirements: GCSE or equivalent to at least 4 passes at grade C or above (to include Mathematics and science and a subject testing the use of English).
Course Description:
The full-time National Certificate qualification covers the advanced technical requirements for today’s motor industry: This course will appeal to those who are interested in the Automotive industry and wish to move to a related career or higher education. This qualification is highly regarded by both industry and universities since it combines advanced vehicle technologies with applied academic subjects.
What you will Study:
· Carrying Out Routine Vehicle Maintenance
· Engine Units and Components
· Electrical Auxialry Units and Components
· Chassis Units and Components
The level 2 Applied Units include the following:
· Vehicle Science
· Vehicle Maths
· ICT for Vehicle Repair
One optional unit:
Mechanical students complete Vehicle Electrical and Electronics
A key aspect of the IMI National qulaifications is their close relationship to key skills level 2 quaifications. The student’s knowledge is assessed by IMI set practical assesments in a motor vehicle workshop environment, IMI set assignments, ‘online’ multiple choice testing and internal assessments.
On Completion/ Career Paths:
You can progress onto Motor Vehicle National Diploma (VRQ/NVQ3) programme.
