Course Description:
This is a qualification fundamentally designed for young students leaving school. This course suits both lower level students, who discover the motor vehicle environment is one that they can flourish in, and for those ‘Young Engineers’ with potential.
What you will Study:
· Light Vehicle Construction and Routine Maintenance.
· Operating Principles of Light Vehicle Engines, Tyres, Brakes, Steering and Suspension Systems.
· Operating Principles and Maintenance of Light Vehicle Transmission Systems and Electrical and Electronic Systems.
The applied Units include the following:
· Vehicle Science
· Vehicle Maths
· ICT for Vehicle Repair
A key aspect of the IMI National qulaifications is their close relationship to Key Skills level 1 qualifications. The student’s knowledge is assessed by IMI set practical assesments in a motor vehicle workshop environment, IMI set assignments, ‘online’ multiple choice testing and internal assessments.
