Duration: Part Time 1 – 2 Years

Entry Requirements: Level 4 qualification.

Course Description:
The Master Technician level qualification is for those who have already achieved a level 3 qualification. This qualification is suited to technicians looking to further their career to supervisory or management positions and also to allow progression to higher education.

What you will Study:
This level 4 qualification is designed to progress the skills of Automotive Technicians already competent at level 3, by developing their ability to determine solutions to a variety of complex problems. This is achieved by employing a range of specialist skills including: Evaluating information from various internal and external sources, Developing investigative strategies, Supporting and coaching others to determine solutions and Developing the necessary skills required to run a business.

On Completion/ Career Paths:
The student’s knowledge is assessed by IMI set practical assessments in a motor vehicle workshop environment, IMI set ‘onliine’ multiple-choice testing, and by assessments set by the student’s centre. The Level 4 qualification enables progression to higher education, management and Level 5 qulaifications and gives a good grounding in the skills requirred to run a business.
