An Intermediate GNVQ in a related subject, 4 GCSE’s grade C or above appropriate work experience.

Course Description:
The BTEC National Diploma is a practical, work related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you develop the skills you need to start a career.

What you will Study:
All students will study the 4 core units: Understanding Media, Research Techniques, Media Skills Workshop and Production Management in the Media Industry.

You will then study all 4 specialist units: Production Management, Professional Brief, Pre-Production Techniques and Understanding Video Technology.

You will then take a further 10 specialist list: Interview and Presentation Skills, Shooting Single Camera Drama, Video Editing, Sound on Screen, Studio/OB Multi-Camera Production Techniques, Writing for Television and Video, Designing Graphics & Idents for Screen, Animation Images, Animation Production, Experimental Film/Video & Installation Work, Television & Video Studies, Film Studies Factual Programme Production Techniques, Advertising Production, Social Action & Community Corporate & Promotional Video Techniques.

Alongside this qualification, you will undertake the Welsh Baccalaureate.

On Completion/ Career Paths:
Entry to University or employment in: Film, Video and TV Production, Animation, Graphic Design, Photography
