About Us
The Learning Zone is a dynamic learning space that aims to provide a seamless, integrated learning support service to all students.

It is a collaboration between the Learning Resources, and Learning Coach teams and combines both traditional and modern approaches to learning, alongside modern technology, in a flexible and informal space where group and individual study can take place.

Professional staff are available to assist, support and guide students as they explore innovative ways of successfully completing their chosen course of study.

Current Projects

WiFi. From September 2009 the introduction of wireless technology, means that users will be able to access the internet to research and support their studies, from any of the 20 laptops that are available for loan within the Learning Zone. At the moment this facility is restricted to college issued laptops.

SMS Text Messaging
The Learning Resources team will use this service to contact all users that have supplied a mobile telephone number.
For example, users’ will be texted to collect reservations and/ or renew items that are currently on loan. Users’ are also able to reply using a series of keywords prompted from the original text message.
