Women’s L2 & L3 Hairdressing

Level: 2 & 3

Duration: L2: 1yr flexible, 2 evenings and 1 day per week. L3: 1yr flexible, 3 days at college & 2 days industrial placement per week.

Entry Requirements: Applicants are selected on interview and a skills test. Progression between levels is not automatic.

Course Description:
L2: The VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing is an intermediate vocational qualification that focuses on the development of a broad range of hairdressing skills, supported by relevant underpinning theoretical knowledge. You will develop your practical skills in; the creative art of cutting or dressing women’s hair, how to provide effective shampooing and conditioning services, the artistic skill of colouring and lightening hair and how to provide a good consultation service for clients. The purpose of this qualification is to develop a high level of occupational ability and provide a sound platform which to progress to a Level 3 NVQ or Diploma

L3: The Level 3 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing is a course that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills to an advanced level through a variety of techniques in the following units; the creative art of cutting women’s hair, the artistic skill of colouring, imaginative dexterity of styling and dressing hair, the purpose behind maintaining personal health and well being and how to provide effective consultation support for colleagues.

What you will Study:
You will develop your practical skills to an advanced level through a variety of techniques.

On Completion/ Career Paths:
On successful completion of the level 2 qualification students can progress to Level 3 Hairdressing. Progression between levels is not automatic.
