Level: 1 Hairdressing (L2 also available)

Duration: 1 year Full Time.

Entry Requirements: No formal qualifications. Good literacy and numeracy skills are required.

Course Description:
Level 1: The VTCT Level 1 Diploma in Hairdressing is a specialist vocationally related introductory qualification designed for those interested in the hairdressing profession. Learners will develop the necessary knowledge and skills through the following units; introducing you to the hair and beauty industries, how to present a professional image and work with others in the salon through assisting in the workplace or work environment. You will develop your creative skills in the art of dressing women’s and men’s hair, apply temporary colour and create a hair and beauty image.

What you will Study:
Level 1 Hairdressing – Health and Safety in the Salon, Assisting with Reception duties, Develop working relationships within your role, Shampoo and condition the Hair and Assist with Perming and Colouring services.

On Completion/ Career Paths:
On successful completion of the level 2 qualification students can progress to Level 3 Hairdressing. Progression between levels is not automatic.
