If you have recently left school you will need a GCSE at grade E or above in English. If you don’t have GCSEs but have some other qualifications, tell us about them because they may be suitable alternatives (e.g. NVQ Level 2). If you have no qualifications we will still discuss a place for you, but will ask you to take a short entry test in English.About the Course
The college has a range of excellent facilities to support the acquisition of GCSE English. A college-wide student support service is also available, which includes a full time, qualified Careers Officer.
What you will Study
The student will practice a variety of writing styles; story, descriptive, letter, leaflets, reports etc. Comprehension skills will also be covered, and spelling, punctuation and grammar revised. Speaking and listening skills will be developed and assessed.On Completion/Career Paths
GCSEs can lead on to many different types of courses e.g. A Level, AVCE, BTEC National and Access.
