Examination Procedures

· Students enrol with MIS at the beginning of the academic year.

· Register with relevant exam board with tutor agreement via exams.

· Payment for examination entry fees must be made at the time of entry for examinations unless the student is on certain benefits (proof of benefit has to be presented at the general office to Ann Hill) if fees are not paid you will not be allowed to sit the exam.

· Please note course fees and examination entry fees are separate items!!

· Each exam board has final dates of entry for registration / exam entry, after this late fees apply for which the student will be invoiced.

· Exam timetables are published by the exam boards and are merged into one timetable by the exam secretary.

· Certain subjects are not subject to exams as units within the courses are assessed practically and also have time constrained exercises ‘in house’ to complete the qualification. These units are marked by tutors and are verified by an external verifier who visits the college at various times though-out the academic year.

· Some courses have on-line testing as part of the exam process- students will be informed if this applies at the start of the course.

· If students have any problems which could affect their exam performance it is in their interests to speak with the tutor who will liaise with the Equality Manager or Learning Support co-ordinator to organise any support deemed necessary.
