Duration: 2 years part-time
Entry Requirements:
One A-level and 5 GCSEs at grade C or above; or a BTEC National Certificate/ Diploma/Advanced GNVQ/AVCE in Building Studies (or similar). Mature applicants may be accepted without formal qualifications, subject to interview.
Course Description:
The construction industry offers a wide variety of career opportunities, including jobs as Site Managers, Safety Advisers and Project Planners. This course equips students with the specialist knowledge and skills needed to support development and management of the built environment.
What you will study:
Year 1;
Construction Technology 1 , Built Environment Law , Materials
and Science • Project Practice • Surveying and Measuring Buildings , Personal Development Planning , NEBOSH Health and Safety National
General Certificate.
Year 2,
Construction Technology 2, Professional Practice 2, Project and Development Appraisal, Tendering and Estimating, Independent Study. Students will also undertake a 15 week period of employment-based learning, enabling academic knowledge to be applied to the workplace.
On completion/Careers path
After successfully completing this course, students may progress to an honours degree.
