Entry Requirements:
2 A Levels 1 A Level and 3 GCSE.s at grade C or above. Access Certificate VCE Double Award Scottish Highers Successful completion of year 1 of BTEC National Diploma. Mature students may be accepted without any formal qualifications at interview based on quality of portfolio and/or personal background and experience.
Course Description:
This course is a national qualification recognised by both universities and employers. Successful completion of the course provides a direct route to Higher Education or career opportunities in art, design and craft related vocations. This broad based course is an intensive introduction, to a range of Art & Design disciplines, allowing students to specialise in a specific pathway for application to Degree or HND level. Subject specialisms taught include Graphic Design, Fine Art, Ceramics, Photography, Fashion, Animation, Product Design.
What you will Study:
You will have access to studio space and will produce a comprehensive portfolio of work for interview. Successful students can expect to progress to a wide range of Higher Education courses throughout Wales and UK.
On Completion/ Career Paths:
A pass, merit or distinction gained on this course would enable students to then progress onto a higher education course.
