Science and Mathematics

The college offers a wide range of further education courses in the Science and Mathematics area. These range from specific A level subjects through to a more generic BTEC level 3 Applied Science course, providing you with the opportunity to gain specific knowledge, understanding and skills that are relevant to working as a scientist.

The college has five brand new state of the art science laboratories, all equipped to the highest technological specification, including 3D projectors.

The college is the only college in South Wales to be an Associate college of the Royal Society, which is a fellowship of the world’s most eminent scientists and is the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence.

The Society aims to promote excellence in science and mathematics teaching and students studying science subjects at the college will have the unique opportunity to participate in activities organised and led by the Royal Society, including scientific meetings, exhibitions and educational research.

In addition, to the many Science courses on offer, the college provides a number of key Science Enrichment Programmes. These include: Healthcare Academy

Courses on offer:

A Level Applied Science
This course offers a balanced combination of Applied Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It is a hands-on course where the majority of learning and assessment is done through learner-led research, investigation, and report writing.
