15 Travel and Tourism students recently visited the World Travel Market to experience an array of food, drink and traditions from each country in the World.
The market, which is the leading global event for the travel industry, provided an opportunity for the students to meet industry professionals, experience the different communities and customs from around the World and also meet key celebrities from different countries.
As an added bonus, the students were also fortunate to attend the ‘Future You’ conference hosted as part of the Travel Market exhibition. This gave them a unique opportunity to listen to real life success stories of young entrepreneurs and role models that work in the travel industry, share their knowledge and understand the challenges that they have had to overcome to achieve success.
Level 3 Travel and Tourism student Rachel Gaforr, commented “This was an amazing event which provided really inspirational stories and advice on the career opportunities available within the travel and tourism sector. We also had the opportunity to speak with a range of employers, including STA Travel, Heathrow Academy, Global Spirit, Real Gap and Hilton Worldwide and gain an insight on how the travel industry works in practice.”
To round off an excellent trip, students then had a brief tour of the sights of London prior to heading back to the college.
The students are now looking forward to their next trip which will see them experience the thrill of travelling on the Orient Express prior to visiting Cardiff Winter Wonderland to examine the tourism aspects of the attraction.
