The College Merthyr Tydfil has been named as the top further education college in Wales for HE student satisfaction, according to the annual National Student Satisfaction Survey.
The college, which scored 83% last year, has risen to 92%, and is now joint top in Wales alongside Aberystwyth University which also scored 92%.
The survey seeks to measure student satisfaction across a range of issues including teaching, assessment and feedback, organisation and management and personal development.
Offering a range of 17 higher education courses, the college seeks to provide a learning and support environment where every learner can thrive and achieve to the very best of their ability.
The college’s Foundation Degrees in Business Studies, Childhood Studies and Psychology performed particularly well, achieving an overall satisfaction rate of 100%.
Student Gemma Payne who has just graduated on the FD Business Studies Degree, commented “I’m so grateful to the staff for all of their time and patience. I would never have thought I would graduate and couldn't have done it without then. The teaching and support I have received has been amazing and I couldn't have picked a better college to do the course.”
How does the college compare?
Across Wales, the college is joint top with Aberystwyth University, closely followed by Grwp Llandrillo Menai who achieved a satisfaction rate of 91%.
