Students take on the role of apprentices

04/03/2016

Year 2 BTEC Level 3 Sports and Outdoor Sports students took on the roles of apprentices today in a mockup of the popular TV programme 'The Apprenticeship'.

The 16 students were given a challenge to design a sports drink to enhance performance in sport and then create an advert and presentation to promote and sell this drink.

Working in teams of four, the students had to present their ideas to a panel of judges from across the college. Taking on the role of Lord Sugar, Sports tutor Craig James acted as lead judge. Craig commented “We were really impressed with the student’s ideas. They really worked hard to research their sports drink designs and present their ideas in a clear and well thought out manner.”

The overall winner was Luke Brown who was also given an award for 'Most Informative Presenter'. Congratulations Luke and also well done to all of the other students who took part.
