Arrangements for A level and Level 3 Vocational Results Day - Thursday 13th August 2020
As you are aware, all learners will be awarded your A level and vocational qualifications through the calculated/estimated grade process and these will be published to you on Results Day, which is Thursday 13th August.
Due to the current situation, we have to limit the numbers of learners coming on to campus at any one time.
We have allocated time slots for A2 and second year learners to come into the college throughout the morning to pick up your results. If you have not received a letter with your allocated time slot on, please contact admissions@merthyr.ac.uk and they will be able to tell you what time you need to come in.
What if I can’t come to college?
If you are unable to come into college or feel uncomfortable coming in, you have the opportunity to receive your results through one of the following ways:
If you have not already done so, please let us know your preference by completing the form here: https://bit.ly/32rkSIx
Please note that results distributed by email will be sent to your college email account and will be distributed between 8.00am - 10.00am.
If you have requested to receive your results by telephone, you will be contacted from 8.00am onwards on the number that you have provided. If you wish to contact us at any time our results hotline number is: 01685 726195
If you are an AS or a learner studying on the first year of your vocational programme, you should have received a letter providing you with an opportunity to let us know if you would prefer to receive your results by telephone or by email. We are sorry but we are unable to let you come into the college to pick up your results in person on Thursday.

If you are unsure of your next steps, worried about your results or just want to talk to someone, we will be offering a full range of advice, guidance and support throughout Thursday and Friday on progression onto university or employment, clearing and degree courses available at the college and also progression on to the next year of your course for AS and first year vocational learners. This advice and guidance will be available via telephone, email and also through campus based slots, which you are able to book via the following link:

You will be emailed a checklist and learner guidance prior to you coming in to college to collect your results or attend any of our advice and guidance slots. Please do take the time to read this guidance as it will contain important information about what you can expect at college.
As per the guidance, please do not come to college if:
When you arrive at college, please enter via the main college entrance doors where you will be met by a member of staff. He/she will escort you to the designated exam collection point or advice and guidance area and then escort you out of the building after you session has ended.
When you come into the college, things might look a little different to when you may have been in last. For example, there will be social distancing stickers around, hand gel sanitisers in key places, screens to protect people where appropriate and one-way arrows to help with social distancing. These measures will all be explained in the learner guidance document, which also sets out our expectations of you when you are at college e.g. frequent hand washing, keeping a distance and respecting each other’s personal space.
Finally, we would like to thank you for all of your hard work and commitment to your studies with us and we would like to wish you the very best for your results. We look forward to seeing you or speaking to you and celebrating your successes with you on Thursday.
If you feel you have received the wrong grade, please email your concern to : complaints@merthyr.ac.uk who in turn will liaise with your tutor/lecturer and our exams officer to look into your concern and see if you have grounds for appeal.
