Association of Accounting Technicians

Level 2 certificate in accounting

Level 2 certificate in accounting (1 day or 2 evenings per week)

This introductory level is where you’ll get to develop your skills in finance administration: double-entry bookkeeping, basic costing principles and purchase, sales and general ledgers.

Once you’ve completed the introductory level, you’ll be awarded the AAT level 2 Certificate in Accounting.

What will I learn and achieve?

There are five mandatory units at the introductory level.

  • Basic costing
  • Computerised accounting
  • Work effectively in accounting and finance
  • Processing bookkeeping transactions
  • Control accounts, journals and the banking system

  •  Accounts administrator
  •  Accounts assistant
  •  Accounts payable clerk
  •  Bookkeeper
  •  Payroll administrator
